Insert Moulding

Insert moulding is a manufacturing process that involves embedding pre-formed components, known as inserts, into a plastic part during the injection moulding process. This technique allows for the integration of metal or other materials into plastic products, enhancing their functionality and performance. Common applications of insert moulding include creating durable parts for automotive, electronic, and consumer goods, where added strength or conductive properties are required. The process begins by placing the insert into the mould cavity, after which molten plastic is injected, surrounding the insert and forming a solid bond upon cooling. Insert moulding is valued for its efficiency, ability to produce complex geometries, and capacity to reduce assembly time and costs by combining multiple components into a single part.
